April Showers

Finally!!! The plums are blooming.  It always makes me happy to see because I know that other wonderful things are soon to follow. May is one of the most beautiful months here in the mountains of Siskiyou County, CA
I have been doing a 'round robin with Crazy Quilters International. Here is Ruby's beautiful block with Judy's work on it.  This was taken before I added anything. I spent about a week drawing out my ideas and thinking before I began. Ruby's theme is Victorian.
This is my "After" picture.

I had so much fun making the blackberries! Not only did I get to experiment with Angelina fibers for the leaves, I learned how to to do dimensional beading. It was surprisingly easy.
I had a terrible time deciding between the lovely scallops and the amazing flower print just below. I finally decided to leave the flower for someone else.

Finally, I have to add a shot of Mount Shasta. It is really lovely this year.  It was the perfect day to take a ride and enjoy the beauties of nature. This is a view of Mount Shasta today, Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. I hope everyone enjoyed the day!

  4. Katy--What fun to read your blog. I am so impressed with what you do outside your classroom!! I think I will get my knitting bag out and get a new project started. I have been planning in my head and just haven't felt the energy to get started on it, but today is a perfect day to indulge in pure personal bliss and do the things we love! I have been a very busy little bee in my kitchen, but now I think I'll move on. Happy Monday!! xo Mona
